Alex Pissios, President & CEO of Cinespace Chicago Film Studios, the official distributor of WorldFest Chicago, is proud to announce that the Cinespace Theatre will be the venue for the official screening of “The Harder They Come” on April 12, 2018. Alex Pissios is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and holds a B.A. in History from the University of Notre Dame. He has been involved with film & television for more than twenty years, beginning with his work as an editor at Renegade Pictures in Chicago, Illinois and then moving to Fox Searchlight’s Los Angeles office in 1986 where he worked on such films as “The Social Network” (2011), “Glengarry Glen Ross” (2013), “Fargo” (2014) and “The King’s Speech” (2015). He is also the co-founder/CEO of Cinespace Chicago Film Studios which launched in 2014 in Chicago’s North Side neighbourhood.

Alex Pissios’ career began as an editor at Renegade Pictures where he worked on such films as “The Social Network,” “Glengarry Glen Ross”, “Fargo”, “The King’s Speech” and “Fargo 2: The Standoff at Altamont”. Alex then returned to Fox Searchlight where he was responsible for producing nearly 30 feature films including: “I Am Number Four, starring Woody Harrelson; The Big Hitters; The Intruder; The Great Wall; Midnight Movie; I Love You Man; A Little Bit

Alex Brought Film and TV Back to Chicago by Helping to Create a New Local Film Festival in 2013 Alex Pissios and his wife, Michelle, founded Cinespace Chicago Film Studios in 2014. The company is dedicated to creating and producing new local, regional and national film festivals in the Chicago area.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Film Critics Association (CFCA) and was one of the founding members of the Chicago Screen Actors Guild (CSG). He is also a member of the Board of Directors for The Cinema Society. He has been featured on “The Nerdist” as well as “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”, “HBO’s Hard Knocks”, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, and in an episode with Chris Rock.
